I know that when choosing an eyeshadow can be very overwhelming cause there's so many colors that's available.  For some of use we like bright, fun colors while some like a more natural, soft , eaiser look. So when your choosing eyeshadows colors & textures, try different methods of applications to see what works best.

POWDER SHADOWS:  These are the most common type of eye shadow and the easiest to use.

Matte Powders: Are the better for creating depth, enlarging eyes, and changing their shape. Darker shades don't refelct light. Use powder shadows lightly to build up the color.

Iridescent & Pearl Powders: They reflect light, and therefore light  up the eyes. You can't get much depth when using them you get with matte shadows & semimatte.

Cream Shadows: Can be blended to almost nothing leaving only a sheer layer of transparent color. Cream shadows are great, but they don't stay on long, to give more staying power apply a dusting of translucent powder on top, the down size it will tone down the shine you may want from the cream. It's aslo great as a base.

Gel Shadows: This can also be blended into almost nothing. It dries more quickly than creams, which means they can't be easily manipulated. Gels has great staying power.

Eye Glosses:  Are dabbed on top of your eye makeup with your fingertip for a wet glossy effect, the down side you have to make sure that the shadow doesn't crease on the lids.

Elf Cream Eyeliner vs MAC Fluidliner

Sun, 02/20/2011 - 12:00AM by Nichole-Clinton 0 Comments -

elf cream eyelinerI Love the elf cosmetics line I'm a faithful & loyal customer who have made many purchases from them in the past and I must say everything wasn't kosher, I got a liquid eyeliner pen and it was dried out. Next, my beauty book neutral edition was all broken and chipped up- understand that it can be the product settling during transit.

elf cream eyelinerTell me why is that I purchase a cream eyeliner for $3 and once I get it the appearence isn't exactly what I had invisioned my eyeliner to look like. It appeared to look dried out. Elf has some really cute colors, but they need to head back to the drawing boards to find a better formula for their cream liners.

  • Great Price
  • Brush included
  • beautiful shades

  • Smudge-proof
  • water-proof
  • irriating
  • not easy to work with
  • dry

mac fluidlinerFor a budget diva who loves a bargain. I made an impulsive decision to purchase a MAC product. It's been nearly 10 years since I bought any expensive cosmetics; so this was really a true treat for myself. You can say that I popped my cherry lol! After watching numeruos youtube videos, chatting with hundreda of ladies, and they all say that MAC's Fluideliner is a great eyeliner I must agree with the masses; for I love it- ther's not tugging or pulling, non irrating, creamy texture just the oppsite of elf's cream liner in every way; price wise MAC's fluideline is $18 which means get what you pay for.

You want quality then you must spend the money for that quality. I didn't mind spending $18 on a product that delivers what I'm looking for & from my cream eyeliner. I just wish that MAC would come out with more colors for the summer.

MAC FluidLineswatches

  • Smooth creamy texture
  • Non irriating
  • Long wear
  • Good quality
  • Fabulous shades

  • Price
  • No brush included with liner
  • not enough colors

What I found to be interesting is the weight of both products, elf has more grams than MAC. MAC Fluidline 3g  ELF Cream Liner 4.7g

Wet n Wild Idol Eyes Cream Shadow Pencils

Tue, 02/08/2011 - 1:02PM by Nichole-Clinton 0 Comments -

Idol Eyes Cream shadow pencilsIf you love Nyx jesps you'll really love wet n wild's cute Idol Eyes Cream Shadow Pencils. Really what's not to love when you look at these adorable cream pencils, they are just as fun and vibrant as their cousins (nyx jesp).  Idol eyes comes in 6 gorgeous shades with a price tag hat you'll love! Compare to Nyx they have the same consistency, creamy and smooth to apply. Like the nyx pencils you can use these as bases or use alone, in any event you won't be disappointed.

As with nyx's shadow pencils they crease just as well if not well blended. I would say use a primer to help the color to stick and then proceed with application of your favorite powder shadow. Shame that wnw don't have an extended collection for these beautiful jewel tones shadows. I'm going to put it out there, Wet n wild, please add more colors to this FABULOUS collection.

  •  #130 Pixie
  • #131 Electro
  • #132 Evny
  • #133Techno
  • #134 Distress
  • #135 Graphite

You can find these cuties at your local walgreens and unlike nyx you'll pay less and get the same quality that you would from nyx. Just wish they had more colors to choose from. You'll pay around $3.99  for nyx jumbo eye shadow, $1.99 for the Idol Eyes. If you haven't tried these wonderful  delectable treats your really missing out, so head out to your walgreens and pick them up! GO NOW!!!!

Wet n Wild ColorIcon Trio Collection

Thu, 01/06/2011 - 1:25PM by Nichole-Clinton 0 Comments -

I've came to love wetnwild as my go to beauty must-have eyeshadows, due to the fact that I can create avery bold and trendy look. There are so many looks that you can create with these palettes and have ablast doing it.

These are some of the most pigmented colortrios that I have come across  coming from a drugstore brand. Yet I love the looks that I created using these trios and wnw takes the guess work out of how to appy colors with The "how to" palettes. Created to highlight, define, and accentuate specific eye colors to create unique looks. Now these palettes costs around $2.99 at your  walgreens. And these wonderful trios are hard to keep in stock as well. Look at the reason why they are so hard to keep, you get a great product for a little price that won't break your bank.

Now these are also apart of the ColorIcon Trio Collection, and the fact that it was really hard for me to locate these palettes and once I did find them I had no other choice but to get them. I heard so much about them that it was a must to pick 'em up and play around of them. In the real world you might say "what makes they so different from others?" Everything is so different about wnw... they are really stepping it up and are a good contender with the more exspensive brands that's on the market. But they don't have the high end price tags that most have.

These palettes of 3 matte and 3 highly-pigmented effect shades are sure to please the shade sassy minimalist and enthusiast alike! Each complementary shade can be mixed-and-matched for a variety of day-to-night looks. If you love shimmer you'll love these fun, colorful, bold yet trendy colors. You have...Vanity, Greed, Pride & Lust.  What makeup maven wouldn't want these oh to fabulous plaettes. Just wait there's more coming in the upcoming year... and I want you ladies to be ready for the spring/summer blow out with the 2011 Collection.

I'll be posting swatches for all these plaettes soon.

I myself had to get my hands on these 4 palettes which are just colorful and pigmented. They are all shimmery and festive for the holidays or whenever you want to look your fabulous. They price these palettes at $4.99 which isn't much considering that you can pay $12 or more for a palette and not get the same quality as you would with wnw.

As you look on the runways you see all of the latest spring/ summer looks and wnw is getting ready to blow their fans mind with the upcoming 2011 collection which will be in walgreens & walmart stores only. From the Holiday collection you have a pretty good idea of what to expect from wnw.
